“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall” – Kongzi. This is very important because as humans, it is only natural that we will all fall someday, and if we never pick ourselves up, it is impossible to accomplish our goals and dreams. It is imperative and necesarry never to get discouraged, and always strive for the best.

I have fallen down many times, too numerous to count. An example is when I thought I was done making a website, and then I discovered it had bugs in different browsers, and it was quite a horrible experience (one you could only get from Austin! Well I am a part time geek…what?), like the horror of being locked up in a room with a clown. However, I took a rest, and despite my anger at Microsoft, I was able to pick myself up and fix those annoying problems. No one likes to fall, but learning how to pick yourself up keeps failure away.

“In order to discover new horizons you must be willing to lose sight of the shores”. This quote has substantial meaning. It is the end, but only the beginning. This is because you must end holding onto something that was, and grasp a hold of something that is. If that is not done, one will be sad, because they don’t see in the present, but only in the past.

The shore could be a small private middle school where everyone knew everyone, or an old group of friends with whom you had so many times. I set sail from the shore, and will it will never return. However, the Horizon, shining brighter and getting closer than ever is a promising land. Like Columbus, I need to see what it holds, learn from the Native Americans, and become one. The journey wasn’t easily amade. There were many tidal waves, but now there is smooth sailing ahead.
